The West coast coffee district of Sumatra, outside of Padang, is where Sumatra Mandheling coffee is produced. The “Mandailing” is technically an ethnic group in Indonesia who grow the coffee, not a geographic region. These coffees are certainly among the best Sumatran coffees and are even considered to be among the worlds’ finest and most admired.
